1. Planet Fitness average sales

Planet Fitness is one of the largest and fastest growing fitness franchises in the world. They even went public in 2015. Their main draw is their “Judgement Free Zone” and low monthly membership fee.

This business strategy has worked out well for them as in 2019, the average Planet Fitness location made $1,741,000 in gross sales revenue. They also had one of the largest gaps between highest and lowest earning individual clubs with a high of $5,769,000 and a low of $288,000.

2. RetroFitness average sales

RetroFitness is another traditional gym with a lot of amenities. Each location has a smoothie bar, a pro shop. tanning beds, and child care services.

4. D1 Training average sales

D1 Training advertises themselves as a gym built for athletes. Their group and individual workouts are built around real professional athletes workouts in their own specialized facilities.

In 2019, the average D1 Training franchise had an average gross revenue of $620,261. Once again, there is a wide gap between the lowest and highest earning clubs. During the same year, the lowest earning club had gross revenues of only $239,958 and the highest earning club had earnings of $985,018.

Similar to most other franchises, Snap Fitness is a traditional gym offering low-cost memberships to acquire members.

Snap has published their results for the first 4 months of 2021. During this time frame, the average club had gross monthly sales revenue of $15,391.43 with 360 members. This adds up to $184,697.16 per year.

The highest earning club had 2,236 members and had $86,995.50 per month in gross revenue, which is an impressive $1,043,946 per year. The lowest earning club only had 5 members and had gross monthly sales of $1,741.92, or roughly $20,903.04 per year.
