How Much Money Can You Make Owning a Fitness Franchise?

Fitness franchises have become increasingly popular investments over the past several years.

But how much are the owners of these fitness franchises making from these investments? In this article, we will be answering that question in terms of overall sales revenue.

Here is how much money fitness franchise owners report making (in average sales) in 2021 as reported in their 2021 FDD:

1. Anytime Fitness: $441, 116;

2. D1 Training: 620,361;

3. Fitness Premier: 541,454;

4. Planet Fitness: $1,741,000;

5. Snap Fitness: $184,697

Unfortunately, due to many variables, the information for reporting net income for fitness franchise owners is very limited (although D1 training reports some net income figures, see below). So, everything will be discussed in gross sales revenue.

With that, per the following franchisors’ 2021 Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), the average fitness franchise owner in the United States can expect to make up to multiple six figures per year, with Planet Fitness franchise owners having the opportunity to make much more in total sales revenue. To clarify, all of these figures come directly from each respective franchisor’s 2021 FDD filings.

Here’s a brief explanation of five of the top fitness franchises and how much money the average owner makes in sales revenue:
